Doren

Doren is a satyr that lives in the forests of Fablehaven with his friend Newel. He firsts meets Kendra and Seth in the first book, and befriends them after escaping from a disturbed ogress. He is a television and party loving creature, and often gets into mischief with Newel. Doren also participates in saving Zzyzx, and it is noted that he and his satyr companion love fast food.

When Kendra and Seth are exploring the forest, Newel appears, with intentions to steal the soup for himself, but an Ogress, appears and chases them away. After that, Doren introduces Newel to the children, and they ask for batteries for their portable TV.

Secrets of the Dragon Sanctuary

After Kendra is kidnapped by the Society of the Evening Star and presumed dead, Seth informs Stan Sorenson that he had some leftover gold bartered from the satyrs that Grandpa had not found. Seth retells how Kendra found it, and told Seth to return it to Fablehaven on their next trip. Seth tells Stan that he will make sure to return the taken gold to Fablehaven.

Keys to the Demon Prison

When Kendra and the others return from their mission with Seth in the Living Mirage Dungeon, Doren and Newel come up to them. They both ask where Seth is, to which Kendra replies that Seth had been lost at the end of the quest, telling them that the group thinks that Seth has died. Doren believes Kendra from the look on her face, but Newel is rather unbelieving, as it is coincidentally April Fools Day.

Later, after the treaty of Fablehaven is broken, Seth comes upon Doren and Newel, telling them that he will give them lots of batteries in exchange for help. The satyrs agree to help, recognizing that if they don't, it might be the end of television and Frito-Lays. First, the trio teams up with Vanessa Santoro after satyrs agree with Seth to do so. They then trap a leperchaun stealing gold, and then they take items that Patton Burgess had given the leperchaun.

Then, Vanessa, Seth, Doren, and Newel go on a road trip to find the Singing Sisters.

Description

Doren looks a lot like Newel, except that his horns are a bit shorter and his hair is less red.
