The elixir of dry depths was supposedly lost to the ages. But in Dragonwatch: Master of The Phantom Isle Tanu, with the help of Uma Stormbrewer, he returned the potion to our world. This potion became essential in their mission later on.

The elixir was stated to give whoever drinks it the ability to breath and interact with water similar to air. With the drinker, once taken the elixir, goes into a large body of water such as the sea, they will immediately sink down into the bottom of the water as if they were falling from thin air. Once in the bottom of the water they are able to freely breath as if they were above ground and barely feel any resistance from the water, allowing them to move around unhindered underwater.
