Ezarod was the nephew of the former Dragon King, Dromadus. He was loved and favored by his uncle due to Ezarod's talents, virtues, and character in comparison to Dromadus' own children.
Alas, Ezarod one day challenged Dromadus for the crown and even after he was outmatched Ezarod refused to yield, forcing his uncle to slay him.
The act of killing his nephew and the circumstances surrounding it forever changed and haunted Dromadus to the point where he stepped down from the throne and became a pacifist.
