The Fablehaven Quiet Box
Quiet Boxes are a specialized prison cells usually reserved for extremely dangerous, and powerful beings. The only way to release a captive from its velvety purple interior is to put another prisoner inside. It is said that the quiet box causes its prisoners to lose their grip on reality. Those placed inside can neither see, hear, nor smell anything. after a prolonged imprisonment, a captive feels unnaturally relaxed, eventually loses all sensation, and is left unable to think clearly when released.

Quiet Boxes are simple and elegant. They are strange and glossy black cabinets with gold trim.

Many prisoners were locked up. (Not counting Coulter, Dale, and some others who were temporarily placed inside for the release of the prisoner.)
- Navarog - The dragon prince resided in the Fablehaven Quiet Box for many years in his human avatar. The caretakers of the preserve never found out his identity, and were warned for a long time to never open it. He eventually was freed by the Sphinx.
- Vanessa Santoro - After Vanessa was revealed to be a traitor, she was sealed away in the Fablehaven Quiet Box, taking Navarog's place. The powers of her prison stopped her from using her ability to control people in their sleep. She was later released at the end of the series.
- Nagi Luna:- She used to be imprisoned in Living Mirage's quiet box for a long time. She communicated with the Sphinx in her prison. Later, during the brink of Zzyx's opening, she was let out.
- Jasmine Oxgard - Jasmine Oxgard was a criminal, She was replaced by Lockland. She then was moved back inside to her former prison once Knox was let back out.
- Lockland - Lockland had sealed himself up in Stormguard Castle's quiet box, mainly to relieve himself from his family's game. Eventually he was freed and was let back in the contest.
- Knox - To prevent himself from being turned to gold, Knox was let inside. His transformation into metal was stalled once he was in the quiet box.
- Unknown Female Prisoner - In the sky giant kingdom of Stratos, an unknown occupant was inside the quiet box,
